# An independent guide to hosting

Digital Hosting is an editorially independent comparison site. We exist to help website owners, founders, and developers pick the right host without wading through vendor marketing.

## Who runs this site

Digital Hosting is owned and operated by **TetraCore**, a small software company in Ohio. We are a review and comparison publisher — we are not a hosting company, and we have no relationship to the similarly-named hosting providers ("Digital Host", "digitalhost.net", etc.) that operate elsewhere. Content is researched, written, and maintained by W. Miller, the site's editor and TetraCore's founder — see Authors below for the background behind that byline.

W. Miller is the founder of **TetraCore, LLC**, the software company that owns and publishes Digital Hosting, and has spent 35 years in software development, technology and related services, including cloud and hosting.

That is also why this site exists. TetraCore runs a portfolio of live products, which means buying hosting, migrating onto it and paying the renewal invoice — the renewal invoice being the thing most hosting reviews leave out. The measurement behind our original research is built and operated in-house: the four-region availability monitoring that checks the uptime study (https://digitalhosting.com/uptime-study) cohort every five minutes, and the collectors that record published prices so a price change (https://digitalhosting.com/price-changes) can be dated rather than remembered.

What this byline does not claim: no load testing on hardware we do not rent, and no hands-on account walkthrough where we have not bought the plan. ## What we cover

Web hosting, VPS, managed WordPress, dedicated servers, business email hosting, and domain registrars — 53 provider profiles in all, including the independent providers (MXroute, Migadu, Hetzner, Porkbun and peers) that mainstream review sites skip. Each category page lists picks with clear pros, cons, verified pricing, and what each provider is realistically best for.

## How we make picks

- Renewal pricing weighed as heavily as intro pricing — every published price carries a verification date.
- Vendor documentation, SLAs, and independent community consensus over marketing claims.
- Refund policy, support quality, and clarity of billing.
- Whether the provider's stack matches the use case, not just the loudest marketing.

## How we make money
