Our take

The anti-promo host: flat prices with no renewal cliff, Swiss-only data centers, and majority ownership by a public-interest foundation. You trade US data-center latency and USD billing for it — Infomaniak doesn't even accept dollars.

Swiss privacy + flat pricing

Starting price

from CHF 1.76/user/mo kSuite Standard, billed annually — CHF only, no USD billing Verified September 2026 Two custom-domain mailboxes per user with unlimited mail storage; web hosting is a flat CHF 10.91/mo (roughly $13–14) with no intro-vs-renewal split. Prices exclude VAT; US buyers pay card FX on Swiss francs. Domain privacy costs extra (CHF 2.40–3/yr). No USD figures shown because Infomaniak doesn't bill in USD.

## Infomaniak, beyond the scorecard

Plan details as published on infomaniak.com, September 2026, in CHF excluding VAT — Infomaniak does not bill in USD; verify with the vendor before you buy.

### Plans, as published

Infomaniak sells one shared 'Web Hosting' plan rather than a tier ladder: from CHF 10.91/mo (roughly $13–14) for 250 GB SSD, 20 websites, unlimited traffic and databases, SSH, daily backups with 7-day restore, and one custom-domain mailbox — with no crossed-out promo price anywhere on the page. A Web + Mail bundle (5 mailboxes) runs from CHF 13.20/mo, and a free static 'Starter' page comes with any domain.

Email is the standout: the free ik.me tier gives one address with 20 GB (no custom domain), standalone Mail Service runs CHF 2.29/mailbox/mo with unlimited storage, and kSuite Standard undercuts it at CHF 1.76/user/mo billed annually — two custom-domain mailboxes per user, unlimited mail storage, plus the kDrive/kChat/kMeet productivity suite. Domains: .com at CHF 9.19 promo registering, renewing at CHF 13.60, with WHOIS privacy a paid add-on at CHF 2.40–3/yr.

### The renewal math

There is no renewal cliff to do arithmetic on — the shared hosting price is the shelf price, and that's the point of covering Infomaniak on this site. The catalog's promo mechanics are mild by industry standards: the .com's CHF 9.19 registration steps to CHF 13.60 at renewal (a 1.5× step, like most registrars), and kSuite's Business/Enterprise tiers run a −50% first-year promo that Standard doesn't need.

The real 'renewal math' for a US buyer is currency: your card pays CHF, so the effective dollar price drifts with the franc — historically upward. Budget the FX spread, not a renewal jump.

Renewal figures come from our Hosting Renewal Price Index (https://digitalhosting.com/articles/hosting-renewal-prices) — intro vs renewal pricing for every provider we cover, verified on vendor sites and dated.

### Choose Infomaniak if

- Privacy-first buyers who want data exclusively in Switzerland, under Swiss law
- Email-heavy small businesses — kSuite's unlimited-storage mailboxes at ~CHF 1.76/user beat most of our email category on price
- Buyers who value the ownership story: majority voting control sits with a public-interest foundation as of May 2026

### Look elsewhere if

- US-audience sites where latency matters — every data center is in Switzerland
- Anyone who wants USD billing or US business-hours support coverage
- Domain-first buyers — privacy costs extra and US registrars renew .com cheaper

### Migration notes

Inbound: a 30-day free hosting trial (credit card required) plus a 30-day refund guarantee makes evaluation low-risk, and standard cPanel-free imports (file/database, IMAP email migration tooling) are documented. Outbound is conventional exports — no lock-in mechanics we could find. The friction is at signup, not exit: account currency is fixed by postal address, and the free email tier requires a phone number from a supported country.

### Honest limitations

The custom Manager console is powerful and famously not cPanel — first-time setup draws consistent complexity complaints in reviews. Support is 7 days a week but 6am–9pm Swiss time, which is overnight for US customers, and Trustpilot's recurring negative theme is slow ticket responses. The sustainability engineering claims, unusually, are specific and audited (PUE < 1.1, no air conditioning, 200% CO2 offsetting, servers run up to 15 years) — we cite them because they're published with certifications, not as marketing garnish.

Company facts, folded in from the Infomaniak review article that now redirects here: founded in Geneva in 1994 and incorporated in 1999, it reports around 3 million email addresses hosted, and publishes ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certification alongside greenhouse-gas audits — unusually specific environmental documentation for a hosting company. One practical catch for a US buyer beyond CHF-only billing: the API rejects USD outright, so an integration that assumes dollars will fail rather than convert.

Testing status: we haven't load-tested Infomaniak ourselves yet. This profile is built from vendor documentation, published plan specs and SLAs, and long-running community reports — and the pricing above is verified on the vendor's site, not copied from marketing. See how we test (https://digitalhosting.com/how-we-test) for exactly what that means.
