## Pressable, beyond the scorecard

Plan details and prices as published on pressable.com, September 7, 2026 — verify with the vendor before you buy. Reliability figures come from our own uptime study's 45-day interim window (Aug 8 – Sep 22, 2026), which measures each provider's own website rather than customer sites.

### Plans, as published

The entry plan is Signature 1: one WordPress site metered at 30,000 visits a month for $250/yr billed annually — about $20.83/mo — as published September 2026. Pressable is owned by Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, so the platform is that stack rather than a third-party rebuild of it, with Jetpack Security bundled instead of sold as an add-on and multi-site management aimed at agencies running many client installs. Email and domains are not included on any plan.

Pricing is visit-metered, and that is the single thing to check before buying. 30,000 visits is the entry allowance; Flywheel's Starter is 25,000, WP Engine's Essential 25,000, and Kinsta's Starter is 35,000 visits or 20 GB of bandwidth, switchable. We have not verified Pressable's published overage rate, so we do not quote one — ask for it in writing, because on visit-metered plans it is the overage schedule rather than the sticker price that produces surprise invoices.

### The renewal math

There is no renewal step in our record: $250/yr is both the entry price and the ongoing price as verified September 7, 2026. That makes Pressable one of the managed-WordPress hosts where the first-year quote is the budget — the opposite of WP Engine, whose Essential plan is $28/mo for the first year on annual billing against a $35/mo standard rate.

On the three-year arithmetic our managed-WordPress table uses — twelve months at the advertised rate, then twenty-four at the rate it renews to — Pressable is about $750. Flywheel and Rocket.net are $900 each, Kinsta $1,080, and WP Engine $1,176, because its $28 first year steps to $35. Among the visit-metered managed hosts we track, only Nexcess (now Liquid Web) at $9/mo, roughly $324 over three years, comes in cheaper, and it is a different kind of product.

One piece of arithmetic worth spelling out, because it is derived rather than read off a plan card: Pressable's note on the annual price is that it includes two months free, which implies a $25 month-to-month rate and $300 for twelve months billed monthly against $250 billed annually. The $50 gap is what the flexibility to cancel mid-year costs. We did not verify a monthly price directly, so treat that as the structure the vendor describes rather than a quoted figure.

Renewal figures come from our Hosting Renewal Price Index (https://digitalhosting.com/articles/hosting-renewal-prices) — intro vs renewal pricing for every provider we cover, verified on vendor sites and dated.

### Choose Pressable if

- You want the WordPress.com stack from the company that builds WordPress.com, not a third-party platform on top of it
- An agency running many client installs under one account — multi-site management is the product's organising idea
- Jetpack Security matters to you and you would otherwise buy it separately
- Reliability is the deciding factor and you want a measured record rather than a marketing claim — Pressable is one of ten providers that finished our 45-day window with zero incidents of any kind
- You want the first-year quote to be the budget: our record shows no renewal step

### Look elsewhere if

- Your traffic is spiky — 30,000 visits a month is the entry allowance and we have not verified the overage rate
- You need email or a domain bundled; neither is included on any plan
- You want server-level control — managed WordPress restricts plugins and configuration by design
- Your site is not WordPress
- Your budget is under roughly $20/mo, where quality shared hosting or Nexcess's $9/mo entry plan is the honest alternative

### Migration notes

Inbound: Pressable lists free migration, which is the norm at this tier, and the move itself is the ordinary managed-WordPress one — database plus wp-content, then a DNS cutover. Outbound is equally standard: WordPress is WordPress, so an export and a database dump restore at any host running PHP and MySQL. What does not travel is the platform layer rather than your content — Jetpack Security and the multi-site management console are Pressable's, not yours. Because email is not included, your mail stays wherever it already lives, which removes the riskiest part of most hosting migrations. We have not verified a money-back window or a published SLA for Pressable, so budget as though there is neither until you have it in writing.

### Honest limitations

The reliability result is the strongest fact on this profile and it needs its boundaries stated with it. Across the 45-day interim window of our uptime study (Aug 8 – Sep 22, 2026 — checks every five minutes from the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia-Pacific, with multiple probes in a region required to agree before anything counts), Pressable recorded zero incidents of any kind: no hard downtime, and no degraded slow-but-answering time either. It is one of ten providers out of the 34 we could measure to finish the window clean, and one of only two managed-WordPress hosts on that list — Rocket.net is the other, while Flywheel and WP Engine are the study's two worst chronic-slowness entries. The boundary: the study measures each provider's own primary website, the one you sign up and get support on, not the uptime of customer sites hosted on the platform. Those are different infrastructures. A clean 45 days on pressable.com is a real signal from a company that is clearly not struggling to keep its own front door up; it is not a benchmark of your site's availability.

What we have not verified, and therefore do not state: a published visit-overage rate, a money-back guarantee, an uptime SLA with credits, per-tier storage allowances, data-centre locations, or support channels and hours. We have run no performance or load testing on Pressable, as on every provider on this site — see how we test. Two notes that are our own editorial view rather than the vendor's: visit-metered pricing is the main structural objection to Pressable, and its branding sits in WP Engine's shadow, which is a marketing fact rather than a product one but does mean less independent information about it exists than about its larger competitors.

Testing status: we haven't load-tested Pressable ourselves yet. This profile is built from vendor documentation, published plan specs and SLAs, and long-running community reports — and the pricing above is verified on the vendor's site, not copied from marketing. See how we test (https://digitalhosting.com/how-we-test) for exactly what that means.
