Our take

A 2007-founded Texas corporation that owns its hardware, runs the full LiteSpeed/CloudLinux/JetBackup stack, and answers its own tickets. The one gap: no published renewal price, so we can't call it flat.

Independent cPanel hosting, Houston-based team

NixiHost, beyond the scorecard

Plan details as published on nixihost.com and its billing portal, September 25, 2026 — verify with the vendor before you buy.

Plans, as published

NixiHost's shared lineup is three tiers on annual billing: Mini at $4.99/mo ($59.88/yr — 15 GB SSD, 1 domain, 2 GB RAM, 1 Xeon Gold core), Basic at $9.99/mo (25 GB, 5 domains, 3 GB RAM), and Professional at $14.99/mo (75 GB, unlimited domains, 4 GB RAM). Month-to-month is available at $7.99 / $11.99 / $17.99. Every plan ships cPanel, LiteSpeed, Redis, MariaDB, CloudLinux, Imunify360, JetBackup, and unmetered bandwidth from a Houston, Texas facility on NixiHost-owned hardware (AS46505).

Beyond shared: managed WordPress at $25/mo (1 domain) and $50/mo (10 domains); self-managed KVM VPS from $5/mo for 1 GB / 2 vCPU / 30 GB (a $25/year 256 MB static-site box also exists); reseller from $25/mo for 50 cPanel accounts. The VPS and reseller lines are excluded from the money-back guarantee.

The renewal math

We could not find a renewal price anywhere — not on the plan page, not in the WHMCS cart or its price feeds, not in the terms. There is also no 'intro' or 'promo' wording, which usually means the advertised price is simply the price. But the terms say NixiHost 'retain[s] the right to increase any pricing and make changes to our account plans without notification', so we list renewal as not verified rather than flat, and we would ask support for the renewal figure in writing before prepaying a year.

For context: one year of Mini is $59.88 up front, and the monthly alternative costs $95.88 for the same twelve months — a 60% premium for flexibility.

Renewal figures come from our Hosting Renewal Price Index — intro vs renewal pricing for every provider we cover, verified on vendor sites and dated.

Choose NixiHost if

  • Owners who want a small, owner-operated US host on a standard cPanel/LiteSpeed stack
  • WordPress and WooCommerce sites that value JetBackup restores and Imunify360 without add-on fees
  • Anyone moving off a Newfold or other mega-brand host who wants the migration handled for free

Look elsewhere if

  • You need EU or APAC hosting — Houston is the only location
  • You want a renewal price in writing before you buy — it isn't published
  • You need 24/7 phone support — support is ticket-first with chat 'when an agent is available' and a Houston phone line

Migration notes

Inbound: free cPanel-to-cPanel migration of content and databases; non-cPanel sources are not covered by the free offer. Outbound is standard cPanel — full backups download from the panel. Cancellation must be filed through the billing portal's 'Cancel account' link with 30 days' notice; the terms say email, chat, or phone requests 'do not constitute a cancellation request', so use the portal.

Honest limitations

The marketing copy says the 30-day guarantee covers 'all of our hosting plans'; the terms (revised September 20, 2026) exclude VPS, dedicated, domains, SSL, and custom packages and limit it to the first payment on a first service — the terms govern. Two pages on nixihost.com still say the company is co-located in Dallas while the plan pages say Houston; the plan pages are the current ones. The often-repeated claim that NixiHost was 'founded by former HostGator staff' appears nowhere on NixiHost's own site (it says 'founded in early 2007' by 'hosting industry professionals'), so we don't repeat it as fact.

Reported by customers

Dated, attributed accounts from public forums. These are what customers said, not something we verified — we include them because renewal surprises rarely appear on a pricing page. Each carries a status label saying how far we could check it.

  • Corroborated by other customersr/webhosting

The r/webhosting moderators' pinned shortlist 'Best Web Hosting Providers in 2026' (last updated July 15, 2026) names NixiHost as one of five hosts the mod team has personally used and would use again, citing 15+ years of independent operation, all-USA support, Texas servers, and cPanel/CloudLinux/LiteSpeed/Imunify360/JetBackup on all plans. Context that matters: the list is curated by volunteer moderators, not an independent test lab; the mods say they 'occasionally secret-shop support' rather than run load tests; and every listed host keeps a representative active in the subreddit. It is a strong practitioner endorsement — treat it as that, not as a benchmark. Customer comments in the thread are uniformly positive but brief — a WooCommerce owner calling the service 'rock solid' and crediting JetBackup, and two others reporting 'nothing but positive experiences'. No complaints about NixiHost appear in the thread.

Vendor response: No NixiHost representative posted in the thread when we read it.

What we could check: Three independent positive accounts in one thread is a signal, not a sample. NixiHost is a Cohort 2 monitor in our uptime study as of September 25, 2026.

Testing status: we haven't load-tested NixiHost ourselves yet. This profile is built from vendor documentation, published plan specs and SLAs, and long-running community reports — and the pricing above is verified on the vendor's site, not copied from marketing. See how we test for exactly what that means.
